Sizing

What size of electric bike should I choose?

With advancements in electric bike technology, there is now a wide range of sizes and styles to choose from that cater to different needs, whether you're riding on trails, mountains, or city streets. Utilise the product recommendations for rider size and the provided guide to assist in selecting the best bike size for your specific needs.

Firstly, make sure to review all manuals, instructions, and guides that come with your e-bike before using it. The charging process for your e-bike battery may differ based on the manufacturer and model.

Battery

Can I use any charger that fits, to charge my E-Bike?

Always use the charger that comes with your e-bike, as each charger is specific to that particular model.

What range can my E-Bike travel?

The range of your e-bike varies based on factors like battery size, terrain, and weight; refer to the product page for more information.

How often should I charge my E-Bike?

Charging your e-bike after each use is unnecessary; recharge frequency is dependent on factors like distance travelled, weight carried, inclines climbed, and pedal assistance level, which can be learned over time by monitoring battery usage percentage after each ride.

How can I optimise my E-Bike Battery?

  • Give your e-bike a full 24-hour charge before the first use and consider charging overnight as most e-bike batteries take 2-8 hours to fully recharge; maintain battery life between 20%-80% to optimise lifespan and avoid full discharges or frequent full charges.
  • Allow the battery to cool down after charging and occasionally give it a full charge if using the e-bike regularly; avoid overcharging by not leaving it plugged in for extended periods and store it with at least 50% charge for periods of inactivity; follow the manual for safe charging procedures if the battery is removable.

What are the best conditions for charging my E-Bike?

Charge your e-bike indoors in a temperature-controlled environment ideally a dry room between 10-20 degrees celsius to protect it from the elements and prevent extreme temperature effects on performance.

Additionally, it is advisable to charge your battery in a room that is equipped with a smoke detector for safety purposes.

Always pre read your e-bike manual before using your e-bike for the first time. Remember to inspect your bike, including brakes, tires etc. before each ride.

Riding

Using an electric bike without the motor:

It is possible to ride an electric bike without the motor, whether the battery is empty or the pedal assist is turned off. This does not harm the motor. Riding without the motor can add more challenge to your cycling experience, but the bike will function like a regular pedal bike.

Key Points for Riding Your Electric Bike:

  1. Begin pedaling to start moving.
  2. The motor will kick in to provide assistance as you pedal.
  3. Adjust the assistance level as desired.
  4. Use the brakes to slow down or stop.

Maintenance

How should I clean my E-Bike?

To maintain your e-bike's performance, it is recommended to clean it after every ride. This will help prevent dirt and debris from affecting the electronics and parts. Whilst most electric bikes are water-resistant, it is best to take out the battery before cleaning. Avoid using pressure washers and opt for a sponge, cloth, and hose instead. Make sure the e-bike is completely dry before reattaching the battery.

Should I have my E-Bike serviced and how often?

Despite regular care and upkeep, your e-bike will require servicing every 6-12 months, similar to a car. The frequency of servicing may vary based on your riding habits. Feel free to reach out to us for advice on where to schedule your next service appointment.
